GYRO – ShipsReview & User-Generated Content Policy

1. Vessel Database and Data Source

GYRO uses a third-party maritime data provider to identify and display vessels.

To find a ship, users must enter the vessel’s IMO number, which retrieves public information from an external database.

While GYRO strives to ensure accuracy, the underlying data is provided by third-party systems, and we cannot guarantee that it is complete, up to date, or error-free.

GYRO is not the owner or maintainer of the vessel database and assumes no responsibility for its accuracy or availability.

2. Purpose of ShipsReview

ShipsReview enables seafarers to share first-hand experiences about ships, companies, and working conditions at sea.

The feature’s purpose is to promote open exchange and transparency within the maritime community.

GYRO serves solely as a hosting and moderation platform and does not verify or certify any user-provided information or vessel data.

3. Types of Users

Ships Review includes two categories of participants:

• Reviewers – users who post reviews, ratings, or comments about ships, companies, or crew experiences.
• Readers – users who browse or view such content.

Both types of users must comply with this Policy and act responsibly while using the feature.

4. Reviewer Responsibilities

By posting a review or comment, the user confirms that:

• The content reflects their own personal experience, not hearsay or copied material;
• The information is accurate to the best of their knowledge and not misleading or defamatory;
• They are fully responsible for what they publish and accept that their statements may be publicly visible;
• They understand that GYRO does not fact-check reviews and will not be held liable for their content.

Reviews can be posted anonymously (without showing the user’s name or rank) or publicly under the user’s verified profile.

Users may also edit or delete their own reviews within the app’s functionality at any time.

5. Reader Responsibilities

Users who read or rely on ShipsReview content acknowledge that:

• Reviews represent personal opinions and subjective experiences of individual seafarers;
• Information found in ShipsReview is not guaranteed to be true, complete, or up to date;
• Any decision made on the basis of these reviews is made solely at their own risk and discretion;
• GYRO does not endorse, verify, or guarantee any statements, ratings, or recommendations shared by users.

Readers should always verify vessel information and confirm details with official company or registry sources before making employment, operational, or safety decisions.

6. No Reliance and Limitation of Liability

GYRO provides ShipsReview for informational and community purposes only.

We are not responsible for:

• Errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in user-generated content;
• Any misunderstanding or loss arising from reliance on reviews;
• The outcomes of employment, operational, or contractual decisions made using this information.

Users agree that they use ShipsReview entirely at their own risk, and GYRO shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damages related to such use.

7. Moderation and Removal of Content

GYRO reserves the right to edit, hide, or remove reviews that:

• Contain false or defamatory statements;
• Violate privacy or confidentiality;
• Include hate speech, discrimination, or offensive language;
• Misuse personal or vessel information.

Although moderation is active, GYRO cannot guarantee instant review of all content and may rely on user reports to flag violations.

8. Reporting Violations or False Content

If you find a review that is false, offensive, or violates this Policy, please report it to info@gyro.team.

Include:

• Vessel name or IMO number;
• A brief description of the issue;
• Any supporting evidence (optional).

GYRO will review the report and, if necessary, take appropriate action.

9. Account and Content Retention

Users may delete their reviews or their entire account at any time.

Deleted reviews will be permanently removed from public display within a reasonable period.

GYRO may retain internal copies as required for audit, legal, or moderation purposes.

10. Updatesto This Policy

GYRO may modify this Policy to reflect operational or legal changes.

Any significant updates will be announced through in-app notices or on our website.

Continued use of ShipsReview after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
