Students can download all lectures and training materials to their phones while the vessel is in port. They can then continue studying during sea passages without internet access.

The programme includes intermediate case-based tests that help students check their understanding as they progress. After completing the course, participants receive a verifiable certificate.

AI Tools for Deck Officers

The updated course also includes an ecosystem of specialised AI assistants designed for deck officers.

These GPT-powered tools can support seafarers with a range of routine and professional tasks, including:

• Conducting inspections of lifesaving equipment and generating ready-to-use PMS reports
• Checking the completion of pre-arrival documentation and eNOAD forms
• Simulating realistic PSC inspections and interview scenarios
• Helping officers prepare for inspections and professional assessments

Practical Knowledge Based on Real Experience

The course is based on the experience of a serving shipmaster.

Instead of focusing on dry theory, the programme uses practical situations and real onboard cases. Topics include lifesaving equipment maintenance, maritime documentation, inspections, and the correct performance of a third officer’s duties onboard.
